What will my child learn?

We will cover a selection of fundamental kung fu movements, kung fu sets, and lion dancing. This will set the foundation of everything your child will learn in the future. Your child will develop self defence skills, physical fitness, confidence, and discipline through our program.

Do your instructors have experience working with children?

Yes, our instructors have years of experience working with children as young as 5 years old. Their main goal is to ensure that children have a inclusive and encouraging space to learn traditional kung fu and lion dance while having fun every step of the way.

Is it safe for my child to participate?

​

Yes, safety is a top priority at our club. Our experienced instructors take proven methods to prevent injury through proper technique, warm-ups, and stretching. We also do not offer contact sparring for kids' classes.

Can I stay and watch the class?

​

Yes, parents can watch their child learn and see how they engage with the class, as well as see our teaching methods. You can even join in with us and learn a few moves yourself!

Does my child need to be in really good shape?

We have no restrictions on any child who wishes to learn martial arts and connect with traditional culture. No matter their fitness level, gender, or background, we welcome them with open arms.

How much are classes?

​

We are not-for-profit and operate on a pay-what-you-can model to ensure these classes are accessible to everyone. For example, parents can pay a lesser amount if money is a barrier for their child to learn kung fu. Our suggested pricing is $60 per month. All funds go back to the athletic club, the team, and equipment.
